New Year – Same Commitment to Safety

Whyte Civil kicked off the new year with Before You Dig Australia (byda.com.au) @beforeyoudig, safety training workshop for some of our crews continuing to strengthen our capability of working safely around underground and aboveground services.

Before starting any excavation work, it’s crucial to contact your local service providers to confirm the location of underground utilities. This simple step helps prevent:

☘️ Accidental damage to water, gas, electrical, or telecommunications infrastructure

☘️ Worker injuries or fatalities caused by hitting live wires or gas lines

☘️ Unnecessary delays and costly repairs

☘️ Environmental hazards like spills or leaks from damaged pipelines

🔔 Why it matters: Before You Dig training ensures that everyone on site understands the importance of identifying potential risks before breaking ground. By understanding service locations, we can reduce accidents, streamline operations, and protect both people and property.

Big thank you to John Holland team at Upper South Creek and for facilitating the training room for us, Sydney Water and of course trainer Leon from BYDA for delivering this important training.
